T.C. 813 |
DESCRIPTION
T.C. 813 is a specially formulated liquid concentrate recommended for use in the removal of
rust from ferrous surfaces.
PROPERTIES
T.C. 813 is nearly neutral in pH and is, therefore, safer to use than the conventional strong
acids or caustic base materials normally employed for derusting. Also, because of this property, T.C. 813 solutions
can be dumped without prior neutralization. It is a non-phosphate.
CONDITIONS OF USE
Concentration | 10 to 25% by volume with water |
Application | Spray or soak |
Temperature | 160° - 190° F (Lower temperatures may be employed depending on rust deposits and speed of removal required.) |
Time | As required |
Equipment | Mild steel |
Vary the above conditions as required to obtain optimum results.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Although T.C. 813 is nearly neutral and considered non-toxic, prolonged contact with skin and eyes
should be avoided. In case of accident, flush with plenty of water and see a physician if irritation persists. Do not
take internally.
