DESCRIPTION T.C. 800 is a neutral liquid spray cleaner designed to overcome the problems encountered with powder or emulsion cleaners. It is a liquid cleaner that is used at 1% by volume. The product gives excellent cleaning and corrosion resistance when removing process lubricants and shop soils from cast, stamped or machine parts. It may be used at any temperature up to 160°F, preferably between 80° and 130°F and does not produce a stable foam above 50°F. It is safe on all metals and plastics and has excellent solution stability at all extremes of water quality and temperature. T.C. 800 will not emulsify oil. Oil floating may be skimmed off, which will extend the life of the cleaner. T.C. 800 is biodegradable, non-flammable and safe to use. CONTROL METHOD Take a 50ml sample of the working solution. Add a few drops of Brom Phenol Blue and titrate with .1N Acid to a pale yellow end point. 4.5ml of .1N acid = 1% by volume (ml x .22 = % by volume) ALTERNATIVE METHODS Take a 25ml sample of the working solution, acidify with a few drops of 50% H2SO4 and titrate with .1m KMm04 to a pink end point which persists for 15 seconds. 8.4ml of .1M KMm04 = 1% by volume (ml x .12 = % by volume) May also be controlled by conductivity. SAFETY Caution! May cause irritation. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. |
